About the verse: Revelation 5:5

And one of the elders saith unto me, Weep not: behold, the Lion of the tribe of Juda, the Root of David, hath prevailed to open the book, and to loose the seven seals thereof. — Revelation 5:5

In Revelation 5:5, John is told to weep not, because the Lion of the tribe of Juda, the Root of David, hath prevailed to open the book. The title points to Jesus as the promised King from the line of Judah and David (Genesis 49:9–10) — the conquering Lion who, in the very next verse, appears as a Lamb as it had been slain.
